So, I have been in a weird place hobby wise. I got my Betrayal at Calth box on Monday night. Great box, really happy with it. I’d love another one even, but funds don’t allow it. So, that’s the good. The bad is that I have been struggling to do any painting. A little bit of burn out on that front I think, coupled with getting the Spacehulk and BaC boxes. By that, I mean it has been hard to focus on Eldar, when the marine stuff is calling to me.

Anyway, I did do some work on the Eldar. I did some decals on the Banshees, Swooping Hawks, Warp Spiders and my Autarch. I also did some touch ups on a couple of Banshees. I also prepped the remaining Dire Avenger bits for painting.

So, the plan is to hopefully finish the Dire Avengers and Wave Serpent. Then pull out everything I have painted, or repainted recently and varnish them.

That won’t be the Eldar finished fully, as I have a few things still on sprues; a Wraithlord, couple of Warwalkers and some Guardians. I also would like to get a few more things to round out the collection; a few more bikes, a Wraithknight and some Vaul Support Batteries.

However, that will have to wait, as I want to get back to the Blood Angels and start getting them into some sort of order. I have a crazy amount of them on sprues now and the army in general needs that stuff to be assembled and painted to flesh it out properly.

Wave Serpent Work

Almost finished the Wave serpent. A little bit more work to do on the Gems and I have to add bone colour to the appropriate parts. Also have to paint the cannon and sensors for the undercarriage.

Man Vs Alien

So yes, the certain something arrived the other day.

Really stoked with this. I really wanted to get the Terminators and at one point I considered buying them on their own. Now though, I can base and paint them and still play the game.

Banshees Banished

So I finally finished the Banshees. Well, as with everything else, I have to varnish and add some small decals, but they are done for now. The Executioner blade fell off the Exarch before painting and I never actually painted it. I have the older style double bladed Exarch that you can see in pictures below and that will do. I intend on getting the newer Exarch executioner finished properly, but I think it needs to be pinned. The problem is that the blade join area is really small, so pinning is going to be hard to do. I will come back to it at some other point, when I have other pinning work to do.
The next thing to do is the Wave Serpent. I had intended to do the Dire Avengers, but I couldn’t work myself up to doing them for some reason. The Wave Serpent was already primed black, so I decided to work on that.
I have the Dire Avenger parts de-sprued and have done some mold line removal on them. I need to prime them though.
I think that once the Dire Avengers are finished, I will go back over everything and apply some decals and varnish it all. Then I reckon I will park the Eldar for a little bit and go back to painting some Blood Angels. I am actually expecting a nice box concerning Blood Angels in the post today.
